The Team and One of My Favorite Moments in the 24 Hour World Tour
Sometimes teaching can be a hard profession. We are currently helping our 8th graders register for high school and it becomes very difficult and at times exhausting process.
Moments like the 24 Hour World Tour make me happy. I love seeing kids happy.
A team was formed and applications went out at lunch today(Friday).
I don't know 85% of the kids who made the team but that is the fun part.
I love that kids get the opportunity to learn and see the world from the library of DeLay Middle School. Can you imagine visiting all 7 continents from a computer in 24 Hours?
We have professors willing to give our students lessons, talking to schools in Africa, Mexico, and Taiwan, learning about making videos, having a leadership mini-seminar, learning about fitness, and so much more.
Not to mention, the kids form teams, learn to communicate, interviewing skills, and so many other life lessons.
I can't wait!!!
My favorite line I heard today, "You made my day, no my year!!"
My favorite part of announcing the team was hearing all the kids in 8th-grade cheer for their friends. Honestly, I did not expect that. I will say, I loved hearing it!!!!
Below is part of the team. I am not sure who is more excited, us or THEM?
