We had a busy day during advisory planning for the 24 Hour Delay World Tour but never to busy for Van and Van to get some pictures taken.

and Ms. Castillo's Eyes... These kids are too funny!!

One More Meeting Until the Big Day!!! 7 Days and Counting!!!

How exciting one last meeting left before the big event. We assigned our families (groups of kids) who they would be conversing with online. The kids had to paper, rock, scissors for some of them. What a wonderful group of kids!! We are so lucky to have them.

This is my first time organizing a 24 Hour World Tour and honestly, without Ms. Castillo to keep me sane, Ms. King to bounce off ideas as well as keep me organize and Mrs. Germany, to answer on my technology issues, I might have gone crazy by now.

I also want to give a big shout out to our school. When we did a "DeLay All" for donations of chips for a meal, drinks, cups, snacks and so much more the next morning we woke to the entire google form being filled up. We are very thankful to our Delay Family!!

                             Thank You!!

Frito Lay is AWESOME!!

Frito Lay is so AMAZING!! I can't tell you the joy we had seeing all these goodies show up for our 24 Hour World Tour!! What an amazing company!! We truly appreciate your support!!

Meeting #3: Valentine's Day Edition

Happy Valentine's Day Readers!

Today, was an exciting day here at DeLay Middle School!  During our advisory time today we got to speak to Mrs. Burke's high school friend Doctor Adams.  Doctor Adams is a biology professor at Brigham Young University.  He recently returned from Antarctica where he studied how organisms that survived the last ice age.

Unfortunately, our camera was not working so Doctor Adams couldn't see us :(  We could see him and got to ask him a bunch of really good questions.

Some of the things we asked were:

1. How do you find the organisms?
2. Is going to Antarctica fun?
3. How long have you been teaching?
4. How he knows Mrs. Burke.
5. Was Mrs. Burke a wild child?
6. How long have you been teaching?
7. Did you like riding in a helicopter?
8. Do you speak any other languages?
    - Speaks Californian, Laos, and Thai

Making Memories

Through the Eyes of a Child

Each practice session, I give usually Van my camera. I always look forward to seeing the Skype-A-Thon practice through his eyes. Each time I get tired, the pictures help me remember why I love my job and why we need to give lots of experiences to our students.

He is amazing at interviewing people!! Alex so amazing at Science!!

Trevor great job on interviewing!!!

Eymy Awesome Job!!

Brandon did not want to ask his question. (Do you speak other languages?) He did not want to embarrass the speaker. I told him I bet Professor Adams did speak other languages. So naturally, when I am right.... I do my "happy dance" and Van caught it on film.

and the children laugh at my awkward happy dance.
Ms. King also getting in a few laughs.
Professor Adams very cool dude!!

No it's not a selfie. She is videotaping conversations.

But we do have time for more "Super Model Posing."

Kenia and Brandon-- Besties

I wonder what Van said to get that look.

Brandon-- What can I say?
Yahir and Luis.. watching and thinking... "What will I ask him?"

Oh, Brandon, we love you!!

Castillo helping the ladies come up with a question.
